The Porsche 356 is a sports car produced by Porsche between 1948 and 1965 and was the first production car of the brand.
Production began in Austria in 1948 in Gmünd, under the umbrella of the Austrian brand «Porsche Konstruktionen GesmbH», where about 50 cars were built. In 1950, production moved to Zuffenhausen, Germany, and the general production of the 356 continued until April 1965, at «Dr. Ing. H. W. F. Porsche GmbH», well after 911 went into production in the fall of 1963.
The 356 is a lightweight, agile, rear-engine, rear-wheel drive and two-door vehicle, available in coupé, cabriolet and rodster.
Engineering innovations continued during the years of production, contributing to the success and popularity of the model.
Of the 76,000 Porsche 356 originally produced, there will be approximately half left.
