Originally supplied by Netherlands British Leyland dealer Autobedrijf Klaver BV on February 10th 1974 to the first owner in Haarlem, this delightful and very rare Blu Scuro / Bianca (Dark Blue / White) Mini Cooper Innocenti 1300 Export, has covered just 62716 km from new and most unusually, has with it the original dealership guaranty, the original 'Passport to Service' book (given by BL with all new cars in this era) and all other documentation supplied with the car when new. Service records show servicing having been carried out by the supplying BL dealer from new with 10 service stamps. The car has never been welded !
Following the sales success of the Mini Cooper Innocenti 1300 Export in Italy, British Leyland / Innocenti decided to expand production for increased market penetration into Northern Europe with three slightly different specifications to comply with Italian, German and Belgium regulations, all cars to be manufactured in Milan. This car is a Belgium spec, identified by the chassis plate on the slam panel.
At some point during the last 45 years the paintwork has been renewed and is in excellent condition. The beige interior trim is unmarked. Mechanically, the car runs very well indeed with both the 1275 engine (similar to the Austin 1300 GT engine with the AEG 538 camshaft) and the four synchromesh, close ratio gearbox quiet and very responsive.
This car came into the UK from Holland in 1990 and thereafter has done very little mileage.
The cylinder head has been unleaded and original HS2 carburettors overhauled and re-jetted during the most recent service when 5 new Falken 145 x 10 tyres were also fitted..
The Mini Cooper has an MOT to June 2020 and further high resolution images are available on request.
International shipping can be arranged and delivery to all UK sea ports is offered free of charge.
