1958 Austin A35 saloon in Tweed Grey with Old English White flash. Only four previous owners this is a great solid car that drives very well.
A previous owner uprated the car with a 1098cc engine block and 1275 A series cylinder head. Also a 1.5 SU Carb with Howley inlet manifold is fitted. A ribbed case gearbox was also fitted.
The car also has a 'Frontline' front suspension set up with anti roll bar, MG Midget disc brakes and adjustable front telescopic dampers.
The differential is upgraded with one from an MG Midget. Recent new brakes, tyres, and general service.
The electrical system has been upgraded with fuses and relays protecting various circuits. A retro style modern radio is fitted with aux input, sd card, and bluetooth connectivity. The interior is in nice order but would benefit from a new carpet set.
On the road the car drives well at 50 - 60 mph and is very economical.
The vehicle was used some years ago in BBC period dramas although I have no firm details of this.
An impending house move to a smaller property means the car will have no garage so needs to be sold.
I have been using the car on a regular basis. Today however a loud noise has developed when in second gear. I suspect a bearing has worn. All the gears still select and the car is drivable so continues to be used. As a result of the problem the price has been significantly been lowered to allow for a possible gearbox change.
Here we have a lovely little A35 Van, running and driving. 948cc engine, nice interior, this is an ideal show vehicle or would make a fantastic promotional vehicle for your business. A sound investment!

A reluctant sale. I have decided to put my beloved 1962 Austin A35 van on the market, in advance of a house move to go travelling. Rather than have it laid up in a garage gathering dust, I think it is best to give it a new owner so it can be used and enjoyed.
I purchased this van, also a reluctant .....
