1971 Triumph T100R Daytona - not concours but a nice example that runs very well and has the added benefit of zero Historic Road tax and MOT exemption.
It was reimported from Arizona, USA in 2013 and has completed all the HRMC/NOVA paperwork and has a UK V5C , a dating certificate from The Vintage Motorcycle Club and a few old MOT’s. The frame and paintwork are in very good condition and it has been remodelled at some stage, prior to coming home, on the 1967 Triumph Daytona, hence the 1967 colour scheme etc.
The recorded mileage is 18780 and the frame and engine have matching numbers.

The present Owner is a retired Engineer and has worked through the bike completing lots of work. A major rewire was required to replace the indicators, correct 40 years of bodges and to get the system up to standard for the MOT and the mirrors were replaced for safety. This model has the TLS front brake that is very efficient with lots of feel and can be used with confidence.

New tyres and wheel bearings were fitted, swinging arm gaiters, oil tank spigot rubbers, rubber oil pipes and the front fork gaiters were replaced. The crankcase breather vent system was replaced. The cylinder Head was refurbished by Seager Engineering, new valve guides, valve springs, seats recut and Head resurfaced, they also rebored, resurfaced and honed the Barrel. The engine was rebuilt with new pistons and rings, new main bearings and a new Canister Oil filter system fitted. The ignition system was upgraded to a Pazon electronic ignition with a pair of new coils and a new battery. To complete the restoration a new pair of Amal carburettors were fitted.

All this work was completed over 800 miles ago so the engine is now well beyond its “running in” and can be enjoyed.

The mileage will go up a bit as I'm still riding out if the weather is nice but I am approaching 70 and find the bike a bit heavy now so it needs to find a new home.
