For sale is my beloved Alpine - because I have no choice. It's a January '68 so it's one of last 200 made & features the final model alterations. Significantly restored by previous owner the car has been expertly welded, sports new cills & arches and paintwork in what I believe is a Jaguar colour. Originally shipped as a manual without O/D, the previous owner converted it to O/D, so it has the ultimate combination of non-overdrive rear axle & overdrive 'box.
Under my ownership the car has had a new* short engine fitted and both clocks refurbished, + speedo re-calibrated for correct combination of axle and 'box.
It's a GT so has wood rimmed steering wheel and a magnificently preserved wooden dash. The hard top un-mounts and leaves you with a beautiful roadster. The tonneau cover is only 2 years old.
There is a reasonable amount of history and I could write a short essay, but really you need to come and take a spin. With the new engine it drives fantastically & sounds really crisp.
I would describe it as a fair condition 1 car, with little real 'work' required to make it fulfil it's real potential. The interior trim could be improved, two panels have minor dents in (not under my ownership) and there is a tiny patch of purely surface rust in one rear arch (pictured.) I am an Alpine Owners club member and believe the car to offer exceedingly good value at the price offered.
The car will be sold with a full 12 month MOT.
