For sale, through JOHN BROWN 4X4 LTD, Land Rover® Series 3 in Deep Bronze Green (1971).

Petrol 2286cc. MOT until 27th January 2020 with no advisories, but exempt anyway. Tax Exempt. 750 Modular Tyres. Parabolic Springs. Kenlowe Fan. Weber Carb. High Ratio differentials.

We are delighted to present for sale this smart hard top Series 3, with many high specification upgrades.

On the outside, there are lots of period features such as the OEM Yellow Rear Mudflaps (now obsolete, so nice to see!), rear vintage grab handles, vintage numberplates and front lamp guards - a new galvanised bumper has been fitted for that 'fresh' look. Some modern upgrades have been fitted such as the towball and electrics, larger defender style door mirrors, working rear wiper for extra visibility (switched on the dashboard!), larger 750 'Cooper Discoverer STT' tyres, with a matching rear door mounted spare. A pair of rear LED spots have been fitted with a switch on the dash, to give additional lighting for reversing and for working use on dark nights! All in all, we feel these upgrades give a really nice strong stance to this series, whilst still looking 'of the period'.

The interior is largely standard, with three front standard seats and deluxe matting to the footwells. The vehicle has a set of deluxe door cards, for the front doors as well as the rear door. The rear is unfitted except for a load mat - if rear benches are needed these can be fitted for £295. The switches for the additional lighting have been placed into the central dash and have been labelled for ease.

Out on the road, this old girl really shines - the larger rubber to gives longer gearing thanks to a larger rolling diameter, with the high ratio diffs giving the effect of an overdrive. Parabolic Springs aid the ride and make things more comfortable over standard, with the weber carb maximising the performance of the differentials and the economy of the engine. A switched kenlowe fan is fitted to aid cooling and further performance. This really is a superb driving Series 3, and maximises everything possible out of a standard engine setup.

In summary, if you are looking for a Series 3 that benefits from tax and MOT exemption, then this could be for you. The upgrades mean that this vehicle is ready to be used for work or play, whilst still keeping its period look. With classic insurance, popular colour scheme and substantial upgrades to the driving experience, it should prove a solid investment for the future - and should be a joy to own too!
