Here we have a 1967 Mustang convertible. This car comes with an extensive history file which is extremely rare with an American car of this age.
The car was built at the Ford plant in San Jose where it was scheduled for build on the 8th of March 1967. It was ordered through the Denver District and delivered to Courtesy Ford 5850 South Broadway, Littleton, Colorado.
They had taken the order from Donald A. Wasner on April the 10th 1967 and he had the car for nearly 18 years until January 1985. The Mustang comes with the original dealer/owner plate, Handbook, delivery inspection sheet, new vehicle warranty paperwork and original Courtesy Ford Badges bearing Donald’s name. It then left Colorado and went to live with Fredrick and Janet Smith from Thousand Oaks California. They had it for 11 years until 1996. Then by fate, it was bought by Jack Duhask from Aurura Colorado, so it came back home. Only a few miles from the original dealership it was sold at. He had the car from 1996-2002 and the mileage went from 39k-60k. We believe there must be a connection between these owners but we do not know that part of the story. In 2002 it was sold to Ryan Minic from Thornton Colorado about 100 miles north he had it until 2014. In 2014 it was imported by Joe Macari Ltd a high-end classic car dealer from London, where our Client purchased it from him in 2015. We meet our client at a Goodwood show where his beautiful convertible sat alongside ours. Since then we have been in touch with him looking after the car.
The Mustang has been restored to a high standard but has kept its original colour scheme throughout. The outside colour is Lime Gold and the interior is Lime Gold over Ivy Gold. It is a fabulous period colour when in 1967 technology had advanced and these new colours could be used.
The original engine and gearbox have also been rebuilt. Fitted with the rare option of a four-speed manual gearbox and twinned also with power steering, gives the car a great feel on the road. The client has asked us to fit a new convertible top as it still has the original fitted with the glass window which is looking a little tired. The car is also very solid underneath. This Mustang is now going through our Mustang workshop for a full inspection for sale. A magnificent car with a superb history, will you be the next owner in the large history file? Our client, the owner has now commissioned us to find and build a 67 Fastback with the addition of a new Ford Coyote engine, all modern running gear so it can be used as a daily driver, this is called a resto-mod. His passion for Mustangs is growing but doesn’t have the room for both in his collection!
