1935 1936 Austin 7 Special project with engine/log book For Sale
1935 Austin 7 Project
Originally a 1935 Ruby Saloon. This car has been part converted towards an Austin 7 Special. Engine and matching paperwork (buff log book).
I bought this as a project over a year ago and began refurbishing and adding parts. I have a 9 months old baby though and I am not currently getting any closer to finishing so I am letting the project go to someone who may give it the time and effort it deserves.
The original paperwork show the car started life as a 1935 Ruby. The conversion to a special coupe started in the 1960,s. Since obtaining I have had the following items refurbished or purchased:
Ruby radiator purchased and fully refurbished with new modern core - tested and ready to go
Original Starter, dynamo and fuse box fully refurbished and tested
Original Engine - number matching buff log book - stripped and checked. Upgraded high compression aluminium head, all other parts in good condition, requires honing and re-assembly
Correct period radiator cowling
Bonnet and sides in aluminium. Not genuine Austin I don't think but look like they may be useful to finish the bodywork.
In addition there are a number of other parts shown in last two photos. In particular the 4 speed gear box that was attached to the engine when i purchased, this runs free and engages each gear. As well as some dials, spare wheel, original number plate, old exhaust parts.
Fuel tank is already installed along with steering column, leaf springs and slimmer competition radiator - which i had planned to remove. Brakes and handbrake are all present.
Please ask any questions and i will answer if i can. I am away from Monday 20th to Saturday 25th - collection any time there after.
