1981 Ford Capri 3.7 Colone V6 Modified Capri. For Sale
1981 Capri V6 Converted from 2.8 to 3.7 by Interpro Engineering in 1995. 42200 miles from new, 2 previous owners, current owner since October 2001, and 2nd owner had the car from February 1986. The second owner carried out all of the work to the car making the modifications it now has over the years of their ownership. the car is very quick, and the power delivery is continuous throughout the rev range in each gear. The car has been built for outright speed. The car had done approximately 33000 miles when purchased in 2001. The Car was originally Cobolt Blue, however at some point it has been re-pained with a slight purple fleck to the paint, giving it a deep and vibrant look. This was done many years ago to a high standard of finish and still looks good today. Modifications to the car include: Rear brake disc conversion (Sierra) 1991 5 speed gearbox conversion 1992 Ultimax 3.7 Conversion using original engine 1995 Stainless exhaust and stage 3 heads 1998 Rolling Road tune 223bhp @ 5225 1998 15" Compomotive 'Minilite' alloys 1998 Battery relocated to boot 2000 Rolling Road Tune by Peter Baldwin 2015 (236bhp @ 4500, 248bhp @ 5500) Rear anti-tramp brackets Front strut brace Front uprated Willwood 4 pot calipers and drilled discs. This car has been well looked after and maintained throughout its life. but is now or sale as it's just not used anymore. There are some bodywork issues starting to show, and ideally these will need to be addressed, although the car is solid and can be used for many more years without doing this work right away. There are now some rust bubbles in the following (usual) locations: Top front of each front wing Both rear quarters where it meets the sills Rear passenger lower rear corner Drivers door sill upper Both door apertures where the quarters meet the sills. There are a couple of small bubbles in the engine bay, but nothing bad. These are all minor points, and there are not through holes, or large areas of rot in this car. Good points: Sunroof area on roof is fine Wing rails are fine Strut tops are fine A pillars are fine Boot floor is fine All chassis, floor, inner sills, etc are fine. Photos of most areas available on request. Viewings of the car are welcomed. The car is in secure storage and I will need advance warning for viewings as I have to arrange for the car to be made available. The car is currently near St Neots in Cambridgeshire. Offers on the car will be considered, but low offers will be politely declined. This is a very rare and special Capri, and it will be kept if it does not sell.
