John Cooper owned the Cooper Car Company and creator of Formula One and Sports Racing cars, was a very good friend of Alec Issigoni, the celebrated designer of the Morris Mini first intorduced to an amazed British motoring public in 1959. They collaborated to design a high performance version to be known has the Mini Cooper. Announced in 1963 in 997cc form followed shortly by 1071cc and 1275cc versions.
The example we offer here is an original UK right hand drive version. According to the Heritage certificate that accompanies the car the Mini was built in 1275cc form on the 16th of September 1966 and was first registered on the 3rd of November 1966. The car still carries its original registration number. The Heritage certificate also states that the car was built with twin fuel tanks, oil cooler and works reclining bucket seats. The Mini was extensivley refurbed and reshelled in 2008.
Finished in its original colour of Almond green with an Old Engish White roof. The car is ready to use and show.
