Eunos was a marque of Japanese automaker Mazda, marketed as its upscale, fun to drive line in its home market. The brand existed from 1989 to 1996. The name was derived for the ancient Greek "eu" meaning "good" and "nos", an abbreviation of "numbers" in English, meant to signify a number, or assortment, of good things.
The Mazda MX-5 (sold in Japan as the Eunos Roadster) is the first generation of the Mazda MX-5 manufactured from 1989 to 1997. Inspired by the post-war era British sports cars, the MX-5 rejuvenated interest in roadsters after the demise of cars such as the MGB and Triumph Spitfire. Since its debut, the MX-5 has won numerous automotive awards and has become the world's best selling sports car.
We believe this to be a unique opportunity to own a very special car. Purchased in Japan by Mr.R whilst working there, the car was used very sparingly on the Japanese roads. The car travelled to the UK with Mr.R when his work contract finished and was put into dry storage where she lay for two years unused. Mr.R then took her home where she was pampered until he sadly passed away this year. Mrs.R then contacted us as her closest classic car dealer to assist with the sale and although this isn’t our usual type of car we sell, we jumped at the chance – why?
Because this car is like new – never restored, never recommissioned never refurbished just a one owner car, loved and cherished by an enthusiastic owner who didn’t get a chance to enjoy it as often as he should have hence the mileage, 7,214km or 4,400 miles if you prefer. That’s right, 4,400 miles in 26 years.
Every aspect of this car is like new, an over used cliché but “time warp” is the only fitting phrase – example: until today when I took these pictures this car has never had the hardtop removed and the pvc soft top had never been erected!
If you want something very special indeed to either use or tuck away as an investment and you are willing to promise us you will cherish it the same way Mr.R did, then we would love to hear from you to find this super little car a good home.
