A doctor purchased this car from a UK dealership and carefully looked after it with a variety of hard to read (not the first time :D) notes made in an original service manual with various work carried out and concourse show win in the 80ies. Believed to be undersealed and garage for the whole period with minimal usage.
In this short time the car has undergone the famous modifying craze and gained alof of filler but was minimally used.
Purchased by a Uni maths teacher who removed the whole bodykit and found a shell that was really good for the age as the filler helped save the metal. Needed parts like the bonnet were purchased and the whole car has undergone a 3 year restoration with many parts ordered from US, or custom CNC lathed. Window out respray in original colour has saved the car from scrapyard and it was MOTed and used for a few shows (Original advert as long as this available+ tons of pictures)
I am a keen enthusiast and have a variety of 90ies JDM cars. This car has been a long time goal for me for which I swapped my 600bhp Supra. I kept further perfecting it with gearbox servicing, polished, waxed and kept under a cover. Sadly I rarely find time for this beautiful car and feel I rather sell it to be able to complete my other big projects. I only use it for shows and occasional days out which is a bit of a shame + she would feel best in a garage where you can perfect the remaining issues and have a unique classic investment/show stopper.
Even though the car has had a huge list of work done, it’s 40 years old and I rather be honest and detailed not to waste our time.
-Carbs need further tuning, I purchased a special SU carb adjustment/balancing tool but the rear carb needs one of the seals replaced (available online)
-Bodywork has some age ware but still looks amazing. Front fenders have slight hairline stars due to initial fitment. Passenger side rear fender has a small defect.
-Speedometer works but does not illuminate
- Heater is stuck on cold, haven’t investigated, might just need a cable or switch?
Mainly due to the carb I don’t drive it much but can be driven back if you are local. I prefer preventative maintenance but don’t have the time and knowledge how to work on carbs and my mechanic is fully restoring my classic Honda CRX (140 miles away, good labour is worth the travel) which would only allow me to start work on this car by summer.
Overall this car has great potential to be one of the nicest 2+2 models and requires an enthusiastic owner to fully enjoy and further perfect this Japanese classic.
I am ideally after a cash sale to feed my other car/house projects but will consider a p/x swap for something newer with cash my way
