1980 Chevrolet CK3500, Brokeback Mountain movie For Sale
1980 Chevrolet CK3500 Silverado 3+3 Camper Special 1-Ton Dually Pickup, featured in Oscar winning movie Brokeback Mountain
Here you’ve got an opportunity to purchase this absolutely unique piece of a movie memorabilia as well as a truck that simply don’t come around in such beautiful condition. It is 100% rust free, with 250k original kilometers and is now ready for another owner to appreciate it. The truck took part in 2005 multi Oscar winning movie Brokeback Mountain. It appears approximately 1 hr and 43 minutes into the movie during the last trip of the main characters into the mountains for a duration of 6 minutes. Purchased by myself shortly after the screening of the movie in the theaters from a cowboy in Alberta, Canada who rented the truck for the movie.
The truck was dolled up for the movie as you can see on the movie screen but after bringing it to Europe undertook a meticulous check-up of bodywork as well as mechanically. Everything that required attention got repaired to perfection including repainting of the truck bed panels, truck bed, the doors. It got new front brake rotors, calipers’ overhaul, brake lines, master cylinder, new set of 6 tires, new alternator, spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, filters etc. The truck is powered by the original 454cui/215hp 4bbl V8 engine with a column shifted Hydra-matic transmission. Noteworthy features include Silverado trim, original spotless clean and tear free cloth seating, two 100 liter fuel tanks, period radio-casette, installed (but not powered) period CB radio, tilt steering wheel, heavy duty brakes, new dual glass packs exhaust with chrome tips. It is Wyoming themed (features added by myself later) that include original bucking horse Beautiful Wyoming mudflaps, bucking horse stickers, bucking horse floor mats and even the key fob. It comes with a perfect matching camper top (not featured in the movie). This truck Is heavy duty but, by the looks of it got always treated like a Cadillac. And indeed these trucks are called „Cowboy’s Cadillac” in the West.
The truck is truly unique especially in this condition and such remarkable history worthy of any collection or a business advertising vehicle. It looks, runs and drives like new. I am ready to assist a buyer in hauling the truck to it’s new home (it can also be driven any distance, but it’s comfortable speed is around 100km/h and it is a gas hog, you know:)
