HISTORY FILE - Registered new on the 31st of July 1980 our iconic 6 Series Beamer shows just 4 registered owners before becoming part of a small private collection in 2016. Incredibly, the history file shows the car being de-registered in July 1991 and has been used sparingly on private trade plates ever since. In remarkable, unmolested condition and boasting an original factory fitted electric sunroof, it’s a lovely survivor. With the exception of an additional non-standard rear spoiler, the car has stood the test of time nicely. In March 2016 the car was tested and qualified for German Historical registration.
EXTERIOR - The unmistakable lines of this BMW 633 CSi are truly breathtaking with this nicely preserved example finished in BMW Burgundy Red (Burgundrot - code 199). Viewing is always recommended as the car does show a few paint blemishes but, all things considered, the mostly original paint is still in impressive condition. All exterior trim, glass and lights remain in excellent order and the extensive chrome is also in top condition. In particular, the clean engine bay is an immediate indicator as to just how well this particular car has been treated. The epitome of first class automotive engineering for the period - beautifully preserved.
INTERIOR – Probably the highlight of the car; the sculptured and rare Cognac leather interior is combined with olive green carpeting with both still beautifully clean and free from wear. Only a small piping area on the entry to the driver’s side let it down with the rear bucket shaped seats still wonderfully factory fresh. At almost 40 years old, it’s in remarkable unmolested condition. The dashboard is completely free from any cracks and all incorporated switches and functions are intact and operate as they should. The check control panel boasts a full complement of LED lamps, exactly as BMW intended. The factory fitted electric steel sunroof adds almost a modern touch to a car which was essentially built some 4 decades ago.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION – Our 1980 model is fitted with the M30B32 engine with 147 kW or 200 PS and features a top speed of 215 km/h. Despite labeled 633 CSi for marketing purposes, the actual cubic number is officially entered as 3188cc, and is of course combined with Bosch Fuel Injection delivering effortless and smooth progressive power. Combined with an efficient 5 speed Getrag manual gearbox, the rest, frankly, is up to you...
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES - The light alloy BMW Mahle BBS alloys are covered in Pirelli P6 195/70 R14 tyres with plenty of remaining tread.
