You can be the fourth owner in 52 years to enjoy 'JUMBO' my Arden Green 2000TC!
I've no idea why the first owner christened it Jumbo, but she did and the name has stuck!
Up for sale because worsening arthritis prevents me from doing the small jobs and general maintenance that is part of my pleasure in Classic Car ownership.
Generally the car is in good condition and looks very attractive when cleaned up,
with tidy paintwork - most of the bright trim on these Rovers is stainless. The bumpers are chrome and look fine from a few feet, though a close inspection shows some pitting.
There is a Weathershield folding sunroof which is entirely waterproof and adds a lot of pleasure to driving, even when the weather is less than perfect, but the headlining is untidy
The interior leather has survived well and the carpets are little worn apart from the drivers footwell.
Mechanically the Rover is entirely usable as a daily drive, but the aforementioned arthritis means that I've left a few jobs outstanding.
The throttle linkage and gear lever linkage both need bearings renewed and adjustment and the carbs will need setting up once the throttle has been attended to.
There is an oil leak at the rear of the engine and some non-structural corrosion in the front valance and wing.
The Rover doesn't need an MOT but it is tested until the end of September.
The car is in lovely Essex about a mile from J28 of the M25 - so is easily accessible and I'm retired so viewing can take place at times to suit you.
