For sale is an Austin Cooper 998 MK1 in traditional Tartan Red and Black. It was build in Feb. 67 and is one of the last MK1’s registered Sept 67. In 2009 it had a major body restoration by The Ennion Workshop in Wrexham. During restoration of the mechanical items the goal was to keep as much original parts as possible to save the soul of this Cooper. Thus it’s a very original and authentic car, what you can even smell. Body, engine, gearbox, glass mechanical and electric items all have matching numbers. This Cooper is a perfect car for enthusiasts but not a typical show car because it still carries its history.
Accordingly it runs on dry suspension, as the transfer was done very early in the Cooper’s live. A Lumenition is installed as well as a wooden Motolita steering wheel and Kangol seatbelts. The body is Waxoyled.
As the cooper was in the ownership of the previous owner it was featured in MiniWorld 08/2011. I bought the Cooper in 2012 and drove it all the way to Germany on its own wheels. Since then it is part of my collection and has been driven only a few times. Therefor all the interior has been tidied up, carefully cleaned and repaired. In 2013 the Cooper was presented on the Techno Classica in Essen, Europeans largest classic car show. The Cooper is still on it’s original UK papers and registration. From first day of my ownership all maintenance work is precisely recorded, though in German language.
Since there is the next Mini project waiting, I like the idea to let the Cooper back to it’s home country or in the sensitive ownership of another enthusiast. The Cooper is located in Germany very close to Frankfurt airport. Pickup from airport is easily possible.
Payment should be in Euro. The asking price is 27.500€
