Advertising a second time around but this time with new and established history thanks to a meticulous buyer who was interested in the car recently.
I've owned this car for 7 months now and fully intended on keeping it with a view to taking to the next level as shown in the last picture. Interestingly the last pic is of a car that was completed by the bodyshop who was/is engaged to do the work and they would be happy to discuss completing the project.
1975 car 911 Targa
Original steel turbo wings all round
original turbo rear bumper
rear whale tale removed (wasn't in great condition) and replaced with an original flat boot
side louvres and turbo sills all done at the time of the conversion as detailed below.
In my ownership:
have done around 2000 miles, 100% carefree, on the button (8 months ownership)
Added the wheels you see on it - 16's, suit it well - bespoke offsets etc. to get the look
professionally fitted Wevo shifter including knuckle - transforms the drive
added in rear seatbelts and appropriate parcel shelf so i can take the kids out when it's sunny!
The interesting history:
In 1983 it seems the engine must have gone as a 22K mile (with a top end rebuild) 3.2 was sourced and fitted by Porsche themselves, original gearbox maintained
At the same time the turbo wings, sills, bumpers etc. were fitted (not a cheap conversion even at the time) and the car was run for a year before going into dry storage until 2014. (30 years).
In 2014, with (33/34k showing on the clock) the car was taken out of storage, likely due to the increasing values and overhauled to make roadworthy.
In 2017/18 it was established the 4 speed gearbox was an incorrect one for the engine and a fully rebuilt (correct 5 speed) one was fitted. (£5K)
What you are looking at is a 38K original mileage 911 Targa with a 3.2 engine with approx 27K miles TOTAL and a fully rebuilt and correct gearbox.
The car has been on the ramps at Riviera Autobody (very reputable) and for a 1975 car it's in very good/solid condition. Mechanically its absolutely spot on and it does not drop oil as it has a fully rebuilt 3.2 engine and box.
6 former keepers.
All in all - a spirited drive, mechanically 100% sound and i'd be confident selling this to a friend it's that solid.
Bought a house and have an extortionate stamp duty to pay. Looking for a quick sale but will not let her go for peanuts.
