1990 Lamborghini Diablo - 65th built and just 10,000kms For Sale

• Rare first year of production example, the 65th built • Showing just over 6,000 miles from new • Kept in private collections unregistered until 2007 • Known ownership history back to new • Mechanical recommissioning in 2017 Model History Developed as a replacement for the legendary Countach, the Lamborghini Diablo began life as a project in 1985. Launched 5 years later in January 1990, the resulting product was a monster of a car. The 30 year old V12 was now 5.7 litres and pushing out 485 bhp and 428 lb ft of torque. As a result the Diablo was capable of 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds and on to a top speed of 202mph (325km/h). The initial brief when the car was being developed was that it had to be capable of 315km/h, so it smashed that target in true Lamborghini style! Production lasted until 2001 and in 1998 Lamborghini were taken over by Audi. Some might say that Audi have engineered some sensibility and practicality into the brand but many feel the craziness and idiosyncrasies that made Lamborghini what it was, have been lost, making the Diablo the “last” true Lambo. This Motor Car The Lamborghini Diablo offered for sale at the Classic Motor Hub is a very rare and desirable 1990 car and is just the 65th chassis built. According to the original warranty card, the car was delivered to its first owner Mr. Tan in Singapore on the 30th October 1990. Correspondence between the current owner and Mr. Tan tells us that he ordered a number of new Ferrari’s and Lamborghini’s over the years and this car was never registered but put straight into his private collection, where it resided until July 2003. At this point the car was sold to a Mr. Taguji in Japan, who again, never registered the car. In 2007 the car was bought by Lamborghini Yokohama in February 2007 when it was registered for the first time with just 696kms on the clock. Between 2007 and 2015 the Diablo had 3 owners in Japan before being imported to Germany via Abu Dhabi in December 2015. The car was never registered in Germany but again, went into a private collection until 2017 when it was taken to Amian of Cologne, specialists in low mileage supercars, to be recommissioned mechanically. All the work is detailed in the history file but the main jobs consisted of removing the engine and carrying out a top end rebuild, blasting/cleaning and repainting the intake manifold, gearbox, suspension arms, brake discs, exhaust manifiold and the exhaust system. The brake calipers were all rebuilt, the fuel tank was removed, cleaned out and re-installed and all the underside panels were removed so the car could be properly cleaned up underneath. The invoice totals nearly €40,000 EURS and is accompanied by a number of photos of the work carried out. The current owner, a long standing customer of the Classic Motor Hub, acquired the car in 2017 through a well respected London specialist and has used the car sparingly, along with the other cars in his collection. Now showing just under 10,000kms and on just it’s 7th owner, this is a very rare opportunity to acquire a very early example in the stunning colour combination of Nero with Nero and with a comprehensive history file backing up the low ownership and mileage. Also with the car are the original tools, compressor and leather bound book pack. This stunning Lamborghini Diablo is available for immediate inspection at the Classic Motor Hub Hangar.
