1937 Morris 10/4 Saloon
Reg. no. 376 UXR
Chassis no. S2/TW 98533
Engine no. 72657
The early 1930s were very difficult for Morris, with no obvious best seller and too many models. In addition the company were introducing numerous pioneering innovations including semaphores, which improved safety on Britain's roads, sliding roofs and electric fuel pumps. The Series II models with modern styling were introduced after 1934, covering all engine sizes right up to the 3 1/2 litre 6-cylinder cars. This 10/4 is a very original example that has been well maintained but not restored. In current ownership the car has always been garaged and driven just on sunny days. Recently the car was started for the first time in several months and it fired up and ran easily. Now reluctantly offered due to lack of use, this charming 10/4 is sold with a V5c.
This and 60 other classic cars and motorcycles will be sold on June 15th at Allington, near Chippenham, Wiltshire, SN14 6LJ. All enquiries to 01249 444544 or look at the fully illustrated catalogue online at richardedmondsauctions.com
