Car and history
The Aston Martin DBS’s have started to rocket in popularity and price. Last month for example, we sold two fully restored DBS at Richards of England for a sum of £500,000. DBS/5634/R is an opportunity to invest in an appreciating classic for just £120,000. This 6 cylinder DBS was first delivered to dealer Arnold G Wilson and registered on 1st July 1971. To this date it has managed to retain its ‘matching numbers’ engine and will be sold with its Heritage Trust certificate. It was purchased by the current owner on 12th November 2013 from a friend who, in turn, purchased the car in 2003. The owner gives credit to the previous owner who was a master technician and automatic transmission specialist. He maintained the car with no expense spared during his ownership. The car is now presented in the desirable olive green with tan colours and remains 1 of just 317 right-hand drive DBS built with automatic transmission.
We would describe this DBS as a good running car in cosmetically excellent condition. It is worth noting that the car would benefit from some mechanical attention (for example the underside needs addressing) and these works would really finish the car off. However, this should not distract from the long list of works already completed by a fellow reputable classic car restorer in 2013. Please find a list of the key work completed by said restorer below:
Re-paint in Olive Green.
Interior refreshing with Tan hide.
New boot springs, radiator, alternator belts, vacuum valves, heater valves, new exterior door handles,
Re-chroming and alloy polishing of parts.
New tyres fitted all round including the spare.
Full service including the replacement of air, fuel and oil filters.
(An exhaustive list, including parts invoices, is supplied with the car within the history folder.)

This is a very rare model of Aston Martin that not many people know about. It was in 1972 when Aston discovered that they had 70 units of the old 4l six cylinder engines sitting in the back. And since two years they had been using the V8 for the DBS. So these Tadek Marek designed 6 cyl engines were .....
