1985 Rare, Toyota Celica Supra, 2.8 MA61 in Black For Sale
After 22 years of ownership, I have decided, reluctantly, to part with this beautiful, stunning machine. Registered November 1985, this vehicle has averaged 4300 miles per year, and is currently showing 147485 miles. I originally bought this car when it was about 3 years old, used it to commute from the North West to London every 2 weeks. Just under 2 years later, I got a job move back to the North West and sold the car to buy my first house, I didn't see the car again for about 9 years. One week, I purchased a local paper to look for a winter project and came across my car again, only 14 miles away, it was advertised for 1 week only, the week I bought the paper, and opened it on the page where it was advertised. After viewing it and remembering how good it was, I bought it back again, and recommissioned it, and started to attend classic car shows. In the last 20 years, it has had 2 sympathetic restorations, mainly paint, to keep in show condition. All the body panels are original apart from a brand new sun roof panel bought from Toyota as it had a very small rust spot in the corner. It has the original upholstery which is in remarkable condition. It had a new head lining and sun visors at its last rebuild to keep the interior looking fresh and in showroom condition. This car is only used in the summer months now for classic car shows, where it has become a crowd puller mainly for its originality and striking looks. It regularly wins awards either through our club or at classic car shows. This vehicle has to be one of the very best left in the UK, it has manual transmission and is in stunning black. The 2 paint jobs it has had over the last 20 years have been full glass removal and interior out. This car has attended the Birmingham NEC classic car and restoration show and recently featured in Aprils Modern Classic magazine. The car is as it left the factory in 1985, and has been on a cherished plate for approx 20 years, and has now returned to its original number. It has all MOT's from 3 years old, and in the last 20 years, never failed an MOT. Please feel free to check its impressive MOT history on the gov.uk website, just enter, check MOT history of a vehicle and enter the registration number, great to see, pass, pass every year! About 3 years ago, the engine was stripped, mainly due to curiosity, as it had never been stripped in its life. The measurements and tolerances were perfect, with no bore wear, so it was rebuilt with a cylinder head refurbishment, valves recut, new gaskets and seals, red coolant, new oil again etc. It only does about 500 to 1000 miles per year attending shows, but gets a full service each year. This car has wanted for nothing, and has an extensive history file. Last year it attended the launch of the New A90 Supra in Crawley, Surrey. This cars history is too vast to put in this advert, and I aim this advert, strictly at serious buyers only. Ideally, I would like this vehicle to become part of a private collection. This vehicle, is without doubt, one of the very best left, and an excellent future investment.
