2003 10,300 mile base model Ka - rust free, PC featured For Sale
I bought this car in February 2018 when I lost my company car and needed something which was interesting but cheap to run. I knew a Ka would foot the bill, but ran online MoT checks on all of those advertised and saw that they were all - with out exception - in various stages of decomposition through rust. This was the first I had seen which didn't have corrosion mentioned anywhere on the MoT history so I took a look. As you can see from the picture, it was - still is - an amazingly well-preserved car. In terms of mileage (10,368) and condition it honestly does look and drive like it is a year old. Some years it did eight miles a year between MoTs. It is also a base model with nothing fancy at all - no central locking, wind-up windows, not even RDS on the radio. Crucially though, it does have power steering and the later, more powerful Duratec engine To keep it rust free, I did a lot of research into rust prevention treatments and found that Bilt Hamber stuff comes out top in all of the tests. So I invested in both cavity and underbody protection and have drowned the Ka in the very best stuff to keep it safe for future generations. There is no rust on this car and hopefully never will be. Once I was back on my feet financially, I tucked the Ka away in the garage where it now sits under a dust sheet. I fully intended to keep it for a few years until a car like this will be truly rare - Kas are being lost at an alarming rate and they were a genuine landmark car for Ford. Because it is one of the few remaining solid Kas, it was chosen to be used for a feature in Practical Classics magazine. But, as always garage space is at a premium and keeping the Ka seems like a luxury. So, sadly, it's up for sale - hopefully it will find a home with someone who appreciates what it is.
