1965 MG Midget MKII For Sale

This is “Elsie” the 1965 MG Midget MKII Finished in Black (rare for this age of car) and a Red Interior with Black Piping and Black Carpets Named after my wife's 98 year old nan we’ve owned this lovely little car for 7 years and will be really sad to see it go but it’s making way for a ’62 MGA we purchased a few months ago. A 1965 MKII 1098cc version this car it is fitted with an Ivor Searle Stage II Engine with a Fast Road Cam (Fitted 2009 at 7,123 miles with the original receipt) with Twin SU Carb’s (Replaced the single HIF in 2015). A very original car with patina sporting the original Bakelite steering wheel and heater upgrade option. The only thing not obviously original is the inertia seat belts fitted and of course the very shiny Wire Spokes. Since owning the vehicle we have undertaken, amongst other routine maintenance tasks, the following work - Tracker Monitor Fitted (2012 - Will Require Battery Replacement) - Interior Fully Refurbished and changed from Black to Red (2013) - New Clutch, Clutch Slave Cylinder & Flywheel fitted (2014) - New, Fully refurbished carburettors fitted and tuned (2015) - New Brake Master Cylinder fitted (2015) - Replacement Front Brake Pads, Discs and O/S Caliper fitted (2017) - Replacement Rear Brake Drums, Shoes & Wheel Cylinders and wheel bearing fitted (2018) - Oil & Filter changed & spark plugs replaced every year - New Battery (2018) - Grease Points done every year (last done September 2018) - MOT’d every year - Last done September 2018 with certificates going back to 1996 The vehicle comes with, a Heritage Certificate and a lot of history and receipts - a genuine (and original) owners handbook - There is also an original brochure for the Midget - Haynes workshop manual plus genuine parts catalogue - A host of spare parts including top hose, spark plugs, a bootlid (in case you don’t like the bootrack), oil filter etc. - Weatherproof cover - A tonneau cover This car has been shown at the Goodwood Revival every year since 2012 on Lavant Bank the GRRC Members area for pre-1966 cars only, been displayed on the grid at Goodwood Breakfast meetings and has taken part in the London to Brighton Classic Car Run in 2018 and 2016. Since buying the car in September 2012 we have covered only 2,500 miles in her and as you can see looked after her every step of the way. Please note this car is not concours but is in exceptional condition and without doubt one of the prettiest MG Midget’s you will find on the market and if you’re looking to get into classics for the first time or have a passion for these very cute MG’s then this is the car for you. I will supply agreed valuation insurance certificates from Lancaster Insurance to the value of £11,000 from the last few years to support the asking price. Another thing to note is the car will not be supplied with the badges you see in the images or on it. The bar & clips will remain but the badges have to come off I’m afraid. There is only 1 set of keys but they do have a very nice 1965 Sixpence for good luck on the key ring. I have lots of other images of the car so if you want to see more send me a note and I'll forward a Dropbox link and of course if you have any questions do get in touch
