Here we have a low owner, low mileage, August 1976 registered Triumph TR7 FHC. This vehicle is a wonderful example of the earlier 4 speed TR7’s. Having had 2 previous owners and a believed genuine 58k on the clock, this is indeed a rare car nowadays!
In the last few years, this TR7 has been treated to the following – Replacement steering rack, gearbox, prop-shaft, rear axle with an auto CWP fitted for better cruising with the 4 speed, half-shafts, wheel bearings, front struts, brakes all round, all suspension bushes, brake lines, radiator inc pipes. It had also benefited from an external respray in the original colour (pictures to show pre paint condition)
Modern additions to the TR7 include, electronic ignition, electric cooling fan and a high torque starter motor. Also, a stainless steel exhaust is fitted and a modern ‘retro’ radio. The rear window has a super period louvred panel, very rare to find nowadays and really suits the 70’s styling of the TR7.
The vehicle is also fitted with a tow bar, ideal for towing a period caravan behind!
We also have the original wheels for the vehicle, the Wolfrace wheels fitted to the car now were added around 1977.
A neat little item to note is that on the underside of the boot lid you will find the signature of a certain Harris Mann (chief stylist at British Leyland)
The history file includes the original service book and the handbook. Originally supplied to Dunn’s Garage in Sunderland, it was registered 2nd August 1976. Previous MOT’s and V5’s.
To summarise, this TR7 is a fantastic example of an early model. Subtly upgraded to help with modern day traffic but keeping it’s retro 70’s charm!
