FKX 78C was supplied new on the 12th January 1965 and was purchased by the previous owner in Jan 1968 and had been in his and his wife's ownership until 2018. It has lots of history from the 1960s and 70s including the original green RF60 log book, MOT’s, tax disks, workshop manual, hand book and even the 1973 fuel vouchers.
It was used until 1976 when it was taken off the road and replaced with a new TR6. Being the owners favourite TR he kept it dry stored at the back of his garage until he started to restore it in the late 80’s. This was a professional body off restoration allowing the body to be stripped and repaired as necessary. The panels that needed to be replaced were mostly Stanpart genuine that were still available at that time. (such as the wings, door skins, boot lid etc.) It was then resprayed and reassembled with the overhauled chassis and rebuilt mechanicals. The interior retains much of its originality, such as door cards, rear seat, dash panel, steering wheel etc. The hood and tonneau are original and still in good condition but it also comes with new ones, as yet unfitted.
Sadly the owner passed away just as the restoration was completed.
There are reams of paperwork and receipts detailing the bodywork repairs and mechanical work and parts, include engine, cylinder head, clutch and overdrive rebuild.
In summary an excellent original rust free UK matching numbers car with a great history, practically everything has been replaced or overhauled and it now needs a marque enthusiast to enjoy the car to it’s full.
