Here i have for sale my very original Series 2a SWB Land Rover. I have owned her for 2 years and am the 3rd owner. The previous owner owned her for 10 years in which time i have done most of the work. So. First of all shes a very rare Searle conversion which would have been done straight from the factory. As you can see there is also a large file of history ranging from old MOTs to hand written and factory diagrams for most of the dash extras. The 2.25 engine has possibly done a galactic 217000 miles as i have bills with 214000 miles on them. She still runs well and i am confident enough to take her to the S2C National 80 miles away. I only fitted the new carb as the old Zenith had warped like they do. Still have the original carb along with the original back door hard top and standard springs. I have fitted parabolics with new bushes all round and NOS unipart fat shocks. I fitted the canvas for the summer but the hardtop and back door will be refitted before selling along with the standard front apron. I havent checked as i dont have a numbers list but i believe all the part numbers are correct. She will be on original LWB rims. Just passed the MOT even though you dont need one. I have left the bodywork just as i found it. I have thoroughly scrubbed her down and simonize furniture waxed her. I have not even cut her back. The underside was sprayed a few years ago on my instruction and has paid dividends. I had a tiny amount of welding to do on the rear end. Little or no welding elsewhere. I can go on and on. You best call if you want to know much more.
Hello. This is an update. she was loosing a little water ove a couple of weeks so ive had the head gasket done. It didnt need skimming as there was not an overheating issue and it was quite had to see where the water was leaching. While the head was of we took the sump of as the gasket was leaking and cleaned the oil pump and sump out.Checked all the big ends. All good with piccys to prove. Standard shells. +30 pistons.Good bores. No lips.New water pump. New manifold gasket. valves all lapped in. new fan belt. new thermostat. The engine ran well before, itll run like a dream now.New hubseals. Pretty much checked everything so a new owner can buy with confidence.
1976, mot and tax exempt. Recently had a bit of tic, new seats, some paintwork, brake, fuel pump etc. Runs and drives well, and everything works ... smokes a bit on start up but ok when warm. Chassis.....
