The bike is in original colours of Tawny brown and Gold and as can be seen from the photos, is in excellent/superb condition but not concurs. It is basically unmolested the modifications are, bar end mirrors, Boyer Bransden electronic ignition, Exhaust silencers and converted to push-on headers. Most of the external nuts and bolts have been replaced with stainless items. Both of the brake master cylinders have been replaced with stainless.
This bike has been static for some time and will need some mechanical attention but has not been neglected recent new parts are valves and valve guides, piston rings, front fork gaiters, chain and both sprockets, handle bars and rear indicators There are oil leaks from the Primary case drain bolt and the primary case adjuster access bolt The engine runs but has not been run long enough to get it warm to re-set the carbs, and smokes a little, it will need running in again. timing is perfect with good strong sparks and good compression. There are no issues with the paint the headlight shell is showing its age but all other chrome is good/perfect. Since the re-build she has developed a bit of a rattle, there was no play in the small or big ends or main bearing, my guess is camshaft(s) this will need investigation.
As with all classics there is always more to be done the “Made in England” transfers on the down-tubes are missing, but new ones are with the bike awaiting fitting.
There is a bit of paperwork with the Bonneville including the original bill of sale there are also some odds and sods spares, indicators, original style Daytona silencers and gaskets mostly. For those who would want total originality I have kept the original nuts bolts and engine spacers, I also kept the points but cannot find them at the moment.
The bike is historically registered so no MOT and Tax is free, it is currently taxed.
The reason for sale is due to arthritis I am not able to comfortably start it, as a result my enthusiasm has disappeared, so with a heave heart, it’s time to sell.
I have been as honest as possible but please feel free to contact me for more photos and/or information, thanks
