This is a really lovely example of a Herald 12/ 50, and has been really well cared for. It has just had an MOT even though not necessary and I have documentation of a restoration in 2016. The car is incredible solid and runs like a dream. It also has a few modern upgrades - namely an alternator and electronic ignition. I have driven the car to work a couple of times and it keeps up with modern traffic at 55/ 60mph on dual carriageways whilst looks and drives great around town.
Outside the car is finished in an olive green. It has the early bonnet with 'Herald' type, the vertical air vents and the smaller side light fittings. (As a bit of a Herald nerd, this was one of the reasons I bought the car!). The panel gaps have been eliminated as well as can be expected so it looks really smart.
Inside, a cactus interior, according the paint scheme, compliments the green exterior. This is in really great condition. The seats have no tears and have been really well cared for. The carpets are good also, with the original gearbox tunnel cover. Windows wind up and down perfectly too. All switches work. The car is original inside, having no seatbelts nor wing mirrors, but does come with cool parking mirror.
As the car is nearing 56 years old, the bottom of the drivers door has a small amount of rust, but what Triumph doesn't?! I have not attempted to open the sunroof, but after a lot of rain, I can confirm that it is watertight! Both sun roof and door are photographed.
I purchased the car only a month back for £3, 000 and reluctantly selling as I now need to purchase a modern car due to new commitments. Given that this is the second Herald, and third of my cars sat on my dad's drive, unfortunately I also don't have the space to keep it and therefore want to see it go to someone who can enjoy and look after it.
I am located in Mundesley, North Norfolk and am in most days for viewings. Alternatively viewings can be in Aylsham.
I am asking £2, 995 just to get back what I paid for it. I think this is fair price for such a great car, and will make brilliant summer transport for someone.
I am confident this car will not disappoint!
