1980 Triumph Spitfire 1500 For Sale

For sale I have my 1980 (One of the youngest about!) Triumph Spitfire 1500 Non Over-drive, the previous owner was a garage which said they think it might have been converted to run on unleaded fuel, however I have never taken the risk and used the additive (taking the engine head off would reveal the truth). I've used the Spitfire as my only car for driving to different ends of the country and commuting no problems through winter and summer for the past two years, I'm having to depart with it as I don't have the time to enjoy it anymore unfortunately. Modern additions: Stainless steel sports exhaust and manifold, Spax adjustable suspension, poly bushed, braided Goodridge brake hose pipes, uprated front brakes, electric fuel pump, electronic ignition, electric fan on radiator, modern lights (so you only have to replace an modern off the shelf bulb instead of the whole light unit if it goes, with the added benefit of being able to see where you’re going in the dark). Pros: Colour matching hard top, reconditioned gearbox and new clutch installed, overheating is not a problem with a re-cored radiator + electric fan, rear brakes completely replaced, rust condition is very good, lots of modern features as stated above, you don't get wet whilst driving, engine has been left original with HS4 Carburettors and original air filter (filter elements have been recently replaced), new battery, UJ’s replaced last year. It's a fantastic drive! Cons: Some of the paint work has been marked due to having a window smashed (however you could get it looking pretty good with a good polish). Windscreen has some scratches in it (you may be able to get this fixed for free from your insurer), the interior could be revamped (I always focused on the mechanical side), bit of speedo wobble at low speeds (probably just needs a new speedo cable run to the gearbox). I also have lots of spares that will come with the car; spark plugs, fuel additive, spare wheel (in the boot), original car jack, various trim clips and others, the original head lights, spare choke cable, and a few more besides. Thanks for looking, Max
