This van has the best provinance anyone could ever ask for and i am only the second registered owner, currently the v5 reads previous owner 1. the provinence includes the original 'transit custom' choices sheet and bill of sale. Original rep's business cards. All original brochures. The stormont sales brochure leaflet / and even still has the paper stormont sticker on the 'a' post, as the 'a' posts and interior have all original paint. The step wells are all solid and all in all this is the perfect transit 100 classic transit panel van. It's only done 17,500 genuine original miles, (which might go up slightly with the weekly sunday drive out i do in it) it was registered in 1984 / a proper english production van obviously. I have never seen such a full provinence with any classic vehicle . the clot. Covered front seats and cab in general are all immaculate, indicative of the extremely low mileage an. Light use. This van has obviously never been used for heavy work. All the swage lines are lazer straight. The optional fron. Lower spoiler looks great. It's a totally complete, useable classic, not like so many rough examples i have seen advertised elsewhere. And yes the v5 is registered to me at my home address where the van can be inspected. Just put on s.o.r.n. Last week as i have too many classics to keep on the road at once, however a new m.o.t. Can be arranged at extra cost .
a practical classic which can easily keep pace with todays traffic speeds.the engine was removed and totally recommissioned by specialists as it had been dry stored for over twenty years before i managed to buy it. When the engine was stripped down and checked over the main bearings and bores were checked and found to be in great condition. The following have all been renewed: water pump / cam belt and tensioner / head gasket / sump gasket / spigot bearing / plugs / front tyres/ rear brake pads and back plate / air and oil filters / plus other sundries like new plug leads set etc. It has electronic ignition and starts on the button with a bit of manual choke. the clutch wear was all checked along with the engine rebuild. It's been proffessionally repainted to a high standard as you can see, but large areas of this van have the original paint, like the inner cab, load bay, and doorshuts. It was painted when the engine was removed and so engine bay looks great. i've carpeted the load bay floor and put seat style storage cabinets either side. The original dashboard radio work. Perfectly.
this really is a very reluctant sale, as i now have a camper van, 2 modern cars, and a 1600e project nearing completion...plus my working van! So something has to go. Quite honestly i think this is one of the best remaining mk 2 transit van. In the whole of the u.k. And i think that absolutely no one has a classic with any better certification and provinance than mine has.
