Reluctantly selling my beautiful 2 owner MGA 1600 mk.I Roadster.
Manufactured in September 1959, she was exported to the USA where she was sold to her first owner in Houston, Texas on 4th January 1960. Papers in file showing his ownership until 1989, when I bought her, on 11th April.
She was restored at a cost of about £12k in 2000/2001, including suspension, steering, brakes, windscreen etc, and a bare metal respray & new interior, both in original (black with dark red trim)factory colours. The only change was swapping the grey hood for a new dark red one to match the interior.(receipts in file).
She has always been garaged and well maintained, never driven in the wet, and even spent several years with us when we lived in the south of France. Regrettably, I have not been able to drive her as much as she deserves, and, thus has a mere 61000 genuine miles.
In the past 12 months she has had over £6k spent on her, including replacing the gearbox, master cylinder, fuel pump, batteries & hangers, as well as other minor odds n sods.
Whilst not concourse, she is in fine fettle and a joy to drive. If I were to keep her for another 30 years, I would probably have a couple of tiny paint blemishes sorted, tidy up the engine bay a little (full set of labels, plates, stickers etc come with the car, if you feel the urge) and replace the carpets at some stage, but that is it.
She has had two 30 year owners in her life, but it is time to find her a new home, hopefully for the next 30 years.
Comes with a large file of receipts and papers & Heritage Certificate of the factory record. I will also include the original side screens and unused full tonneau in dark red, if I can find them.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions, or for any more information.
