1971 Rover 3.5 P5 Coupe present owner for 42 years For Sale
Rover P5 3.5 V8 Coupe Automatic, finished in silver birch over Rover burnt grey, with Saddleback tan leather and fawn carpets, only 44,650 miles from new.
A superb example which spent the early years registered overseas and it is believed it could have been a diplomat car, returning to our shores in 1976, the currant owner has had the car for the last 42 years, currently on a private registration which will be removed prior to sale.
The saddleback leather is in lovely condition showing only minimal wear to the driver's seat, evidence of some use to the front passenger seat and only very occasional use to the rear seats, good fawn carpet throughout, good wood to the door cappings and dash, with its original complete tool kit and a gorgeous unmarked headlining, all four door trims are good and the interior of the car is a very nice place to be.
The bodywork again is good there is the odd age related mark, there has been some areas of paintwork done over the years but the paint is mostly original and the car presents itself extremely well, all the brightwork is very good, and the underside good and solid totally original and never been welded.
Mechanical good the engine starts first time hot or cold rattle free pulling well through all three automatic gears, the brakes bring the car to rest nice and straight free of vibration, the steering is light and smooth, the suspension gives a good comfortable ride with no knock's or rattle's , and the car drives extremely well, all the gauges lights ETC are in good working order, all the windows rise and fall as they should, doors open and close correctly
This car has been owner maintained for the last 42 years by a very enthusiastic gentleman and kept as a second car thus never seeing any rain, dry use only, all this is reflected in the general condition which to my mind makes the possible purchase of such an example a rare opportunity .
Included in the history file are all bar one of the old MOT's the currant test expires in August this year however we would be happy to supply the car with a full twelve months , the tyres although showing plenty of tread are 20 years old they will be renewed prior to sale along with a new battery.
to do this car justice we highly recommend viewing , interested parties can be collected from Newcastle's main rail station or airport, payment by bank transfer, cash, or all major debit/credit cards, cardholder present, finance can be arranged subject to status .
