The car. An excellent example of this marque. Full photographic restoration in 1999 using a ‘Heritage Body’ and only on the road for dry motoring since restoration.
Background. I purchased the car from the widow of an enthusiast who regrettably passed away having loved and cherished it, who kept it in a heated garage. It has always been garaged since purchase in 2006
New engine. The original restoration included a 1998cc engine but regrettably in 2013 it blew up. It was concluded the engine although supplied through the MG Owners Club, had not been built correctly and a replacement original series B 1798cc has been fitted. The replacement is a ‘Gold Seal’ engine which was little used. It was completely stripped and professionally rebuilt. Full flow oil cooler
Body Shell. The photographs show the heritage body shell was sprayed inside and out prior to being rebuilt. The paint work is immaculate.
(Heritage body shell sprayed from SC Spares currently costs £14000)
Maintenance history. The car has always been maintained by the proprietor of Fieldside Garage including, when with the previous owner.
Driving experience. This car dives beautifully. It feels solid on the road and there are no rattles or knocks. It is a pleasure to drive like it was brand new.
Reason for sale. I have owned UYM for 13 years. However I have had a MGA restored which is the replacement vehicle I also own a MGBGT Jubilee. (Also for sale. I can only drive one at a time)
Records of restoration. All the photographs of the restoration. All bills and accounts of everything spent, £12,148.03 so far excluding the cost of the donor car. All MOT certificates since. All photographs since ownership. The purchaser will receive an invitation to meet the proprietor of the garage who will confirm the history of maintenance.
Guarantee: As a private owner I am sufficiently confident in this car that I will offer a three months or three thousand miles guarantee for major parts, (engine and gearbox), excluding ancillaries. Any work carried out under the guarantee can only be carried out by Fieldside Garage, Maulden, Beds.
Security: The car is fitted with an electrical isolator and other security features.
Pre-delivery check. The car will receive a full service and MOT (though not needed) before it is collected.
