Ah! The MGB Roadster , an icon of your Dad's youth in the swinging '60s. It is the archetypal British Sports car. As British as warm beer and fish and chips. It is tough, entertaining and timeless. The 'B' is a remarkable car. Consider the numbers, announced at the start of the swinging sixties, it lasted 28 years before finally departing the scene in 1980. In that time, no fewer than 386,961 MGB Roadsters left the Abingdon production line. After the Abingdon factory closed, the MGB fuelled the growth of a remarkable industry geared solely to maintaining, improving and recreating the breed. Yes, some people sneer that the B is boring, but this is blinkered nonsense brought about the British fear of success. The MGB deserves to be at the top of the shopping list for anybody who is looking for a classic sports car that is practical and affordable as well as stylish.
The exceptionally smart MGB Roadster we offer here was totally rebuilt on a British Motor Industry Heritage bodyshell in the late nineties and has covered just 3000 miles since the rebuild and has just 2 owners since. The car is finished in Old English white with a red interior. The car also has overdrive on 3rd and top gears. The car really presents very well, standing as it does, on new chrome wire wheels.
During the restoration the car was treated to a factory 'Gold Seal' rebuilt engine. The 'B' also benefits from new brakes all round including new discs and pads. New handbrake cable. New rear springs. New front springs, lower arms spindles and bushes. New front anti roll bar. The suspension is also polybushed. New propshaft. One 12 volt battery as opposed to the old 2x6 volt version. The car has been kept in a heated carpeted garage and never used in the wet.
