1972 Lamborghini Espada Series II – 3.9L V12 - UK Registered

Registration No. BNT 813K

Chassis No. 8501

Engine No. 40690

If ever a classic Lamborghini has lead a rarefied life, it is this example exemplified by a solid, sound body that has effortlessly survived its 48 year life. Thanks to the fact that after being imported into South Africa in the early 1980's, it spent some 4 years in Pietermaritzburg, the inland Capital of Kwa-Zulu Natal before finding a new home in the subtropical, dry climate of Johannesburg rising to 6000 feet above sea level. The owner, Mr. Nolly Limberis, cherished and drove the car for 32 years before ill health forced the sale to the current owner of this car which was imported into the UK on the 12th April 2019. It was then registered with the correct generic number BNT 813K. Much historical data, receipts and registration certificate are available.

Analysing the market place, there are currently 21 examples of the model on offer at an average price of £112,000. The Hagerty Valuation Tool views the car in the £60's, however a very reasonable offer would be in the upper £50's which the eager seller would be pleased to consider.

Little effort and money is needed to transform this classic supercar into a sustainable daily driver creating a great, long term investment. It is largely unmolested and all-encompassing but in need of some attention. It does run albeit with a little smoke on the right bank possibly caused by worn rings and the rest of the drive train and mechanicals are in fine fettle. Finally the interior trim requires upgrading. Cotswold Classic Car Restorations Ltd would welcome the opportunity to offer multi-disciplinary classic car services should the purchaser so require. £10-20,000 spent could undoubtable make this into an incredible supercar investment.

The Espada is of monocoque construction with a steel body. Suspension is fully independent, with double wishbones, coil springs, hydraulic shock absorbers and anti-roll bars with four wheel disc brakes. Its 3,929cc (240 cu in) V12 engine breathes through six Weber side-draft carburettors and there are 24 valves commanded by two chain-driven overhead camshafts per bank. Producing 345 BHP, the car powers its way to 62 mph in 6.9 seconds climbing to a top speed of 155 mph. This example is one of 58 series II's manufactured in RHD form of which only 3 are currently on the global market.
