1992 Mercedes 190e 2.0 - 59k miles - Service History For Sale
Lovely late Mercedes-Benz 190e in perfect driving condition
This 190e is in the very desirable Pearl / Ice Blue Metallic (038) with IMMACULATE beige cloth (065) interior.
This is the car for an MB enthusiast wanting to enjoy a very usable and mechanically simple ‘proper’ Merc – with very low maintenance costs.
It's had just 2 previous owners to my mum, a retired GP who bought it in 2001. The car was transferred to my name in July 2018.
It has a very low mileage of 59k – as my mum only used the car for her weekly trip to and from Sainsburys!
Mechanically, the car has always been well maintained.
FULL SERVICE HISTORY TILL 49K MILES IN 2003 (11 STAMPS)
SUBSEQUENTLY SERVICED BY MERCEDES SPECIALIST GARAGE IN LEYTON
If you use the Gov.UK MOT checker online, it will verify that the car has only done 8k miles since 2006 !
The car drives BEAUTIFULLY … gearbox and engine in harmony and the ride is super comfortable – enhanced by the ‘essential’ luxuries – MB options in its day - of an electric sunroof and front armrest. Absolutely NO wear to the seat bolsters. The zebrano wood inserts are in MINT condition - reflecting the car's low mileage and provenance.
The specification includes:
- 2.0 Litre fuel injected
- 4-speed automatic (switchable between Economy / Standard)
- Anti-Lock Braking system (ABS)
- Power Steering
- Alloy wheels with matching spare tyre
- Electric tilt / slide sunroof
- 4 x Electric windows
- Front arm rest
- Zebrano wood inserts
- Original MB mats and front rubber overmats
- Cassette (still works fine!) FM & AM radio player / front & rear speakers
- Electric aerial
During the past year, it has had a full service with all fluids changed.
It’s also had new:
- OVP relay
- Distributor cap /rotor arm / ignition leads
- Electric aerial
- Rear UBL speakers
- Reverse light switch
- New number plates
It really drives like a dream – the tracking is taut, the heater blower super efficient; even the boot shuts like a bank vault (unlike the very last generation of tinny 190e’s)
* BAD POINTS *
Cosmetically, the paintwork is in poor condition, especially on the driver side panels, although there is NO rust – with clean wheel arches. The poor paint is no issue if you’re looking for a reliable everyday classic.
But if you are a concourse perfectionist, you will definitely want to get a full professional respray.
Also, the car suffers from screeching brakes; this is due to years of lack of use; no issue in terms of driveability and safety but you will probably want to get them refurbished in due course.
Also, the rear door cards are beginning to buckle at the top - a very common issue with the 190e.
MOT to November 2019.
Car can be viewed either in:
WANSTEAD, LONDON E11(2 minutes from Central Line Wanstead tube)
or NORWICH, NR1
I can also email you lots of photos.
Many thanks for looking
