1957 Austin Healey 100/6 Project For Sale
Austin Healey 100/6 Project Austin Healey 100/6 project from 1957, the chassis and inner bodywork restoration has been completed with original chassis rails repaired and most panels, outriggers and floors replaced. The only original panels being front and rear bulkheads rear seat panel and the chassis rails and engine support members . The frame has been fitted with additional stiffening around engine mounts and front suspension as per rally cars and is currently being prepared for paint. Looking for offers over £20k , if the car project doesn’t sell It will be going into long term storage for a future completion. Engine block and head have been machined reported and new components including new pistons , cam, valves rear oil seal kit purchased to enable it to be rebuilt to fast road standard. A new aluminium oil pan is included. Gearbox (four speed no overdrive) is untouched. The outer body wings are new aluminium, and the front and rear shrouds have be assembled from sections and tacked up and trial fitted to the chassis. The original Doors (steel) have been adjusted and initially fitted for gaps with the closing mechanism . A new Aluminium boot has been purchased and the steel bonnet restored with newly made stiffening underneath . The rear axle is in the process of being refurbed with new components ready to reassemble. There is a new front windscreen and the frame has been trial fitted but is unpainted/chromed Remaining scope, front suspension and steering untouched, interior untouched there are no original seats only some parts of the frames and rails. Pedals and linkages are complete but unrestored. There are no interior panels, carpets or finishing for the door tops. The dash is complete and untouched . The door mechanisms have been sorted and trial fitted. Bumpers will need re-chromed along with other chrome. The original steel wheels (4) will need cleaned up and powder coated and new tyres. Nearly all the new and original parts are boxed marked and listed and many of the original parts will be re-servicable which was my plan. I have retained much of the original parts even when obviously beyond restoration just for reference during rebuilding. Much of the hard work is complete but this is not a project to be taken lightly or suitable for an inexperienced restorer, additional welding on inner body may be required for a few blind fitting and the aluminium front and rear shrouds currently tacked up will need welded and some panel beating and planishing to complete. The frame is currently on an assembly spit and wheeled frame is also available for transport. Original paint colour was Colorado red over black and a heritage certificate is available plus VIN plate number plates and some paper history. Car was a steel wheel version, but I have axle stubs to suit wire wheels . We can help with car transporter at cost in the Uk but all the parts will require a suitable transport. Lots of electronic photos of restoration so far are available.
