1935 AJS 250 Twinport hand-change in lovely original condition.
Due to owning too many bikes and a lack of space as I have just bought a 1920’s flat-tanker, I am selling my lovely little AJS 250 Twinport. She is certainly no Show Queen, but is a lovely original pre-war bike which has a super patina and wears hers years with pride and I like a bike to look like she has been used rather than an overdone restoration. She is very original, right down to her leather tool panniers.
As a twin port, she is very free revving and pulls surprisingly well for a 250 and is a delight to ride. An easy starter, she rides very well; the hand change is very straightforward and she slips into gear nicely and has a good turn of speed. The brakes are strong and she pulls up very well (far better than my Norton which is a year older).
She was previously the personal bike of a chap who owned a classic bike dealership in Northampton, so is really well sorted and runs like a watch.
The V5 is in my name and viewing is welcome near Henley-on-Thames; RG9 5NB.
A video of her running can be seen here:
