When the BMW 2002 Baur convertible was introduced, BMW concessionaires ordered five RHD cars to be delivered to the UK for use as press and exhibition cars. They were all registered on the 7th February 1973 with sequential reg. nos. PYW 1L to PYW 5L. This is one of those cars. We also believe that it was shown at the 1973 Earls Court Motor Show but sadly we can't prove that. This car is becoming increasingly rare as only a few hundred were manufactured in RHD form.
This car was restored around 2007 and has been recommissioned over the last few months including new starter motor, new battery, new hood and complete brake overhaul. It starts and runs well and the gearbox is faultless. All gauges and buttons perform as they should do. The car is showing 81.5K miles and has only done a few miles in the last 13 years. The bodywork and Chrome is in superb condition. The interior is good but could use a little more TLC.
Although MOT and tax exempt a new MOT has been obtained and expires in September 2020.
