I bought this car last August from Leigh Holbrook, a W123 specialist near Sheffield (Google “TOWIW123” for more information) with the intention of spending time and money but circumstances have changed. In Leigh’s opinion “the car runs perfectly and gear changes are smooth. I have driven countless W123 models… and this one is one of the best 280’s to drive.”
History and Paperwork
V5, 9 owners (including myself)
MOT’s dating back to 2002
All receipts since I bought it back in August 2018.
Before this there is quite a bit of history going back to 2008, including an invoice of £2,100 in March 2011for work done by Steve Redfearn, a renowned MB Specialist in Wimbledon.
Expenditure since I bought the car.
Full set of floor mats
Replaced all 4 door seals
New boot seal bought (just needs fitting)
Extra key (only came with one but now have two)
Renewed the windscreen wipers
Changed ATF + new filter
Replaced front and rear propshaft flex discs and central bearing support
New rear gearbox mount
All 4 jacking points have been professionally re-welded
Things still to do
Fix the leaky sunroof
Right hand bulb in the instrument cluster needs replacing
Heated rear window works but the spring in the button has failed (I have a new switch that just needs fitting)
Radio aerial was vandalised (internal plastic cable broken) but there is still good reception from the radio
The bodywork is very good, though there are a couple of minor rust blisters and blemishes to the paint, as to be expected from a car that is 34 years old.
The car is very presentable, though it would benefit from a little work to take it to the next level - in which case it would cost twice as much as I am advertising it for.
I have tried to be as honest as possible. If you have any questions or would like to view the car then please give me a call on the details below. Car is located in Lymm, Cheshire (WA13).
