Legends are pleased to offer this well known and prolifically campaigned European Touring Car.
The car is a 1983 1600cc Toyota Corolla Coupe, rear wheel drive which was purchased new by Antonin Charouz and converted to compete in the European Touring Car Series.
Built with the help of the Toyota works team and is as per their specification and design. We believe that many original Factory parts were used in the construction as Charouz was sponsored by Toyota and competed under their banner.
Antonin Charouz was successful as a diver in period becoming the Czech Saloon Car Champion and drove the Toyota in many European races (many class victories) all of which are documented in accompanying file and logbook.
The car was purchased in 2014 along with other important works race cars direct from the Charouz Museum in Czechoslovakia, brokered by Colin Collis (Caterham F1 and Spyker F1 Team) who was a personal friend of Antonin. Being on static display since the end of the 1990 season, recommissioning works included new fuel tank, ignition system, prop shaft, fire system, wheel rebuild with new tyres and engine inspection and dyno run.
The car stands today in stunning condition wearing its original Marlboro livery, engineered to Factory standards and is eligible for Peter Auto Heritage Touring Cup, HSCC Dunlop Saloon Car Cup and Motor Racing Legends Historic Touring Car Challenge.
