Here we have an early Mk2 MG Metro Turbo built on 11th June 1985 and despatched to Henlys Coventry being registered on 5th August 1985. Finished in the now very rare Arum white with grey lower detailing which was featured the Mk1 MG Metro Turbos and very early Mk2 models, and then finished with a osprey grey interior with the usual red seatbelts and carpets. This is a very rare non sunroof model.
Of the 21,968 MG Metro Turbos built very few remain today, having been subject to abuse in their early life, getting stolen or later being donors for their valuable engines for other projects. It is believed there are only three or four original Arum White models remaining, as it was mainly a Mk1 Turbo colour which progressed onto Mk2 for a short period only.
This particular example has enjoyed quite a sheltered and cherished existence, being in the ownership of a husband and wife for virtually all its life. It was purchased at less than three years old from its one and only owner, and remained with them up until 2019.
The car has never been subject to abuse or stolen, and remains in very original condition. It has constantly been maintained and comes with an extensive continuous MOT history dating back from 1991 to present day. The current Mot expires in May 2020.
It has never been a project car laid in a barn for years like so many are, and then refreshed only to find endless problems, and neither has it been made up of three cars with panels donated from one, engine from another etc ... you know the story.
This MG Metro Turbo is largely as it was manufactured in 1985 with the exception of routine maintenance items, and some light paintwork which is to be expected with the passage of time. The grey bumpers are unmarked, with no scuffs present as is the usual case. Current mileage is 63,694 miles which according to the extensive history with this car appears to be genuine. Alloy wheels are in superb condition along with the all important nut covers and centre caps again in excellent order.
The interior is all original with no wear to the seats, an unmarked headlining, correct red seat belts and no damage to the rear parcel shelf. The unique boost gauge is present and correct at the side of the roof mounted clock.
The car comes with two sets of original keys, supplying dealer key fob, boot tools, handbook, and extensive MOT history, old tax discs and some bills for parts. The V5C is present along with an older V5 showing a detailed history of ownership.
