If you’re looking for a reliable classic Mini that hasn’t been ‘messed about with’, this could be for you. My beloved ‘Nippa’ has driven only 46k miles in his 38 years; I have every MOT certificate to prove it. He’s kept in a garage and is used regularly. His last MOT was in April 2019 and he was recently given a full service by Somerford Mini, arguably the best Mini garage in the country.
I bought Nippa 4 years ago in an effort to regain my youth and in the time I’ve had him, I’ve kept him as original as I can. I’ve been helped by a record of his original condition... the original sales brochure for a Mini HL in the same colour. I’ll include this, an original driver manual and a HAYNES manual in the sale.
He’s been described by the mechanic at Somerford as ‘a great little runner’ - starts every time and drives really well. The interior of the car is in great, original condition - the upholstery is particularly remarkable with no marks, rips or discolouration.
In the Spring, I invested significantly (£5k+) in repairing Nippa’s undercarriage, having been given an advisory in an MOT. A previous owner (one of six) had welded sill covers onto him, which they’d sprayed with black seal. Somerford Mini stripped Nippa right back and repaired the floor where necessary, put in new sills and professionally protected and repainted his underneath in original colour.
I’ve got plenty of pictures asides from the ones posted here. Ask for more information.
This is a reluctant sale and I’m looking for a buyer who will take good care of Nippa and keep him as original as possible.
