One family owned Triumph GT6 MK3 finished in white with black trim. Very rare manual non overdrive model, this car has only covered an original 24,845 miles from new.
The GT6 was registered new on 27/05/1971 with registration number WEL 52J to Mrs Joyce Mary Freegard of Ferndown Dorset. She purchased the car from Stanbourne Motor Company LTD in Bournemouth Dorset. Mrs Freegard drove, maintained and loved the GT6 until May 2019 when she passed the car onto her Nephew as she could no longer look after the Vehicle. Unfortunately a loss of storage and circumstance mean that the Triumph is now available for purchase for the first time in the vehicles history.
There is a comprehensive history file with the Triumph including the original service booklet, handbook, old mot’s, service invoices, general receipts and DVLA tax correspondence.
Service stamps are present in the original service book from new until 1979 when the car had covered 17,088 miles, then since there are paper service receipts and MOT certificates to warrant the mileage upto the current year 2019.
In 1983 the car had covered 19,530 miles, as can be seen in the documented history, the Triumph has been used sparingly.
In 2005/6 when the GT6 had covered 24,510 miles, the Triumph had a light restoration undertaken. To support this there are pictures and receipts in the history file. Since the cars restoration a mere 400 miles have been driven, mainly just to the mot station and back each year, as can be seen on the MOT certificates.
As you would expect the GT6 still looks in fantastic condition today, even though it is now an older restoration, the car has always been garaged and well maintained, she is a very straight and solid example.
Inside is in A1 condition with no wear or marks to the seats, carpets or headlining. The chrome bumpers have been re chromed when the car was restored and still look like new.
A full detail of the engine bay and front suspension was also undertaken and again still looks brilliant.
A full stainless exhaust system is fitted and adds to the great sounding GT6 engine note. The engine is smooth, runs and pulls well, and the car generally drives and handles as one should expect, a very nimble little classic car.
Recent front brake overhaul.
MOT and tax exempt, but has a current MOT that runs until 05/07/2020.
Ready to be driven and enjoyed.
Further pictures available on request.
