Hi, I’ve decided to sell/trade/PX or swap my BSA b40, it’s on a 1962 plate with V5 and currently on a SORN, the mileage is unknown but runs without any smoke or unknown noises,
it’s had quite a bit of work done to it recently Including new fork Stanchion, seals and seal holders, new Amal 600 premium carb and new front sprocket, chain and tensioner was fitted only last week, The bike is fitted with good Pirelli MT 43 tyres front and back the front being new a few weeks ago. The bike is also fitted with electronic ignition.
The not so good bits and there’s not that much are, The rear shocks whilst ok For off road use are a bit long and soft for road use, and it needs a side stand fitted. There’s a bit of a pop and sometime there’s a backfire when you come off the throttle quickly I think it’s just sucking in air from the exhaust I’ll try and look at it before sale.
the asking price is £3100 however I’m open to a bit of sensible trading For something a bit smaller preferably pre 1980 and road reg’d, I’d really like something in green lane trim on the lines of a TL125/250 or bantam However open to offers.
Bike being sold as an EASY project !!
Runs and rides with no problems just needs a couple of small jobs to finish
1. Foot pegs are ok but a bit flimsy for serious trials use.
2. Needs better shocks.
BSA B40 pre 65 trials bike, 1st registered 11/7/1962, on current V5C reg document ,been stood a while but starts and runs ok, oil returning well, many good bits fitted, alloy petrol and oil tank ,.....
