Regrettably I’m parting ways with my beloved Mini Cooper Sport 500. I’ve owned the car for 6 years but recently changed my job so I no longer have a company car or garage! The prominence of the car being one of the last 500 built to the basic original design of Sir Alec Issigonis. The means the car comes with the plaque in the dashboard and certificated by the Cooper Sport 500 register. They also have the distinctive two tone exterior and interior. This is a Solar Red Example with Silver roof, strips and mirrors. They were also provided with the Minilite style wheels. Interior wise this is full leather in Silver and Black with matching steering wheel. The car is then finished with Aluminium dash and all metal interior (window levers, door handles, gear stick)
The Mini has a total of 6 years (over an 18 year period!) and spent the last 4 years in dry storage until August last year whereby it sailed through its MOT, had an oil change and a new battery nd was driven form North Devon to London with no issues. I then had the car into The London Mini centre to have some bits and pieces sorted after its period in storage such as a new expansion tank and cap, brakes front and rear including a new brake cylinder, spark plugs, rocker cover gaskets a ball joint kit and new wheel bolts (I separately also fitted new locking wheel bolts) and they greased all the nipples and tweaked the engine slightly to get it running properly. I’ve then used the car sporadically for a few runs and to generally enjoy the car. The MOT was completed on 30/08/2019 with no advisories
The car has an extensive amount of service history from over the years, largely stamped in the book and separately kept up to date on a sheet by the former owner. He is a Mini fanatic (thanks Andy!) and had bought the car to take on the International Mini Meet in eastern Europe during which the car received a new gearbox, which mean’s that’s very fresh. The car has 99500 miles but with care an attention these engines are known to be strong. I’d considered a future full overhaul, but it starts and drives first time and pulls so well that I couldn’t bring myself to do it. The car is in generally good condition with the usual areas of rust and a small scratch on one wheel arch. When the car was in at the London Mini Centre they said none of it was an immediate issue and is largely superficial. This means there is nothing immediate that needs doing. It’ also recently had its wheels refurbished and paint protected.
The car is located in West London, I’m happy to meet somewhere convenient and any test drives would require some form of deposit to be left in possession which we can discuss.
