Introduced during November 1969 to replace the 17-year-old Bedford CA, the CF van variants became some of the most popular light commercial vehicles on British roads. In 1984 the CF was renamed CF2 and received a variety of mechanical upgrades. The last CF2’s were sold in 1987 marking the end of Bedford designed vehicles (new models were based on GM platforms).
Welcome to the sale of a remarkably original, last of the line, Bedford CF2 drop side truck. This stunning little light commercial truck was delivered new by Charles Clark, Vauxhall Bedford Agents to H. J. Oaxley & Co Ltd, (Sheffield) on 17th September 1986 to transport their various light engineering products. Clearly used sparingly the truck passed onto a Rotherham Flower Trader around 2007 and more recently, in 2015, to a private collector who used her for film work across the UK and Europe.
In 2016 restoration work was carried out on the cab shell, both doors & chassis. The lovely timber-bed and excellent original interior were refitted along with the original (supplying dealer) registration plates and window sticker
On the road the truck is a real eye-catcher and drives extremely well. The history file shows just three previous owners, includes recent MOT’s and invoices for restoration work and original service book.
This very late Bedford is one of the best CF2’s you could hope to find. Perfect for business advertising or simply as a classic with a special twist we expect this remarkable truck to find an appreciative new custodian very quickly
