1980 Ducati Pantah 600 For Sale
1980 Ducati Pantah 600cc F2 replica My old reliable Pantah track day bike. Refined over a series of years to be a great machine for Classic track days & events. Knows its way around Cadwell, Oulton, Mallory & most enjoyably of all Spa Francorchamps when it appeared regularly over the years for the "Bikers Classic" 3 day event. Its been great fun since 2004 when I first ran it in rather more standard trim until its last outing a couple of years ago. Since then its been started up & warmed up but its not turned a wheel - time to say goodbye I'm afraid although I could look at it for years to come I'd prefer if someone else could enjoy it as much as I have done. A brief spec - delugged standard frame, 35mm Paoli "bevel" forks with P08 calipers & Racetech Emulators,Goodridge hoses, new Heidenau race compound tyres, Competizione exhaust system, Carbs jetted to suit. KONI dial a ride shocks, Alloy NCR style fuel tank with Newton filler & twin Pingel taps, Scitsu "red dot" tach, Engine running std cams & ignition, new pickups, Deves rings, new valves. New clutch plates & upgraded springs, catch tank with flap valve breather. Electric start retained & full charging system too with new regulator & a full rewire by an electrical engineer. Its becoming ever harder to find Pantahs and the days of building a cheap trackday bike are over with £6k+ being asked for even the most mundane machines most of which will end up as donors for TT2 projects which (from experience!) I know will add at least another £5k to do properly. This one is ready to roll with no time wasted looking for the now hard to find period components such as the Competizione exhaust system . The alloy fuel tank (by Peter Kyte) is a copy of the tank on the Sports Motorcycles Tony Rutter machine which won the F2 TT in 1981 (the original bike is owned by a pal) & is of course not affected by modern fuel as the cheap glass fibre tanks are. Twin Pingel taps provide the flow necessary to allow the engine to develop its full potential. It started life as a road registered bike but I had a spare frame which I de-lugged & fitted. The OE frame & V5 is still in my possession and could be supplied if required to return it to the road. Also offered to a buyer would be a virtually complete spare 600cc engine including the rare & desirable rear head, 81mm relined barrels to bring the capacity up to 600cc from the std 583cc, spare wheels , forks etc are also available. Finally I have a number of 2:1 exhaust systems which could be useful at events requiring a silencer. Viewing recommended in the M41 area of Manchester More detailed pix on request.
