A British Heritage Certificate confirms TS9623 rolled off the Triumph production line in December 1955 and arrived in America in early 1956. This puts it in the first 3 months of TR3 production having all round drum brakes.
Repatriated back home in June 2015 from Connecticut USA I purchased the car from the importer shortly after and have used it regularly ever since.
The car has never been fully restored and is pretty original for a 63 year old sports car. Paintwork has been re sprayed many years ago with lots of minor age related dings, chips and scratches. It looks to have its original engine with low port head, gearbox and body panels except the bonnet which is a TR3a item. Continue having fun driving it as I have or it’s a good candidate for a full concours rebuild.
In the time the car has been with me back in the UK it’s had:
- Fully refurbed seats
- Mohair hood
- Original sidescreens refurbed
- Tonneau cover
- Full driver side floor
- Underside Wax oiled
- New radiator
- 5x60 spoke wire wheels (very good second hand)
- Stainless steel sports exhaust
- new stainless front bumper and rear overriders
