Chassis number recorded as CA2S7707424 - this example is a re-creation based on a 1963 Mini 850 shell, the Front End number is still in place as FE586507 which relates to a build date of July / August 1963. The car does not have twin fuel tanks which became standard on the Cooper S during January 1966 the car does not have a remote gear change and does not have the Cooper S padded dash. We believe the engine to be a Cooper S unit from the period from research, but advise potential purchasers to satisfy themselves to this prior to bidding. The vendor and current registered keeper informs us he purchased the car around 1968 and initially used it for rallying events until it was laid up in the early 1970's where it has remained until now. HPI and DVLA record the car as a 1965 Austin Mini Cooper S which it is NOT the car is a recreated rally car, it is sold a non runner and as a source of spares only, potential buyers are advised to view this Lot prior to bidding.
